We are living through a time of profound transformation. Climate collapse, artificial intelligence, economic inequality, and widespread mental health challenges are not isolated issues—they are symptoms of deeper systemic breakdown. The Deep Shift is a space to ask the big questions:
What kind of future are we heading towards? And what kind of future do we actually want?
I am Björn Fondén, a climate expert and changemaker. For the past decade, I’ve worked in climate policy—pushing for transformation inside international negotiations, corporate boardrooms, and civil society. But over the years, I’ve felt a growing disconnect. The world is changing faster than our systems can respond. Climate collapse, AI disruption, rising inequality, a crisis in mental health—these aren’t separate issues. They’re all symptoms of something deeper.
That’s why I started The Deep Shift.
This podcast is my attempt to ask the questions I rarely hear in public debate.
What if the systems we’ve built are no longer fit for the world ahead? What if the real challenge isn’t just fixing what’s broken – but imagining something entirely different?
Each episode aims to feature deep, honest conversations with people who sees the world differently; thinkers, builders, entrepreneurs, policymakers – across disciplines, geographies and generations.
I want this to be a space for depth, honesty, and imagination. A place to explore not just how we avoid collapse, but how we might shape something wiser on the other side.
